Helmet to helmet Bluetooth?

Helmet to helmet Bluetooth?
Who has it and is it even worth spending the money on? Wife has a modular with the ability to add the bluetooth to it and i am possibly getting a modular for longer rides and thought about the bluetooth. But honestly not sure I want it. I preferr to have my ear buds in on longer rides for music and judging by the looks of the speakers with the bluetooth they don't look very loud or look like they would have good sound becuase of the size. And two, I'm not sure I want to hear others talking to me. Wife points at stuff all the time, I just kind of look over and if i see what she is pointing at great and if not I don't even worry about it, but I'm sure I would hear all about it if we get the headsets. I kind of like just getting lost in the ride with the music. Opinions on it?
Can differnt brands still comunicate with each other or only like models?

Subscribed. I'm curious of this as well. Will be riding with the wife soon we hope, and her new helmet is also a modular with bluetooth.

I have been using the Interphone by Blueant for the last several years without issue. Bike to bike is great. I also enjoy listening to my music that is stored on my phone. The unit also has voice dialing so you can make or answer a phone call if necessary.
Volume and clarity is outstanding at any speed and the price is reasonable.
Hope this helps

Blueant Interphone
I've ben keeping my eyes open for a plug in intercom system to install on the bike but short of installing a full radio package I haven't found anything yet.

We have the sena smh10. Great quality, sound and ease of use. Voted best system a number of years in a road. Had ours nearly three years now with no problems.
We have one set for rider and pillion and a mate I ride with has the same unit and we pair them together when doing long trips if you need to let each other no you are stopping, going off track or whatever. Range is excellent.

I think you might have gotten bad units. All of mine (4 sets) last for close to 12 hours regardless of talk time, music streaming, etc.. Just streaming music on lone rides I can get 15 hours out of them before charging and even then their not dead.
Might want to see if they are still under warranty and have them checked.

I've had a Blueant Interphone system on the wife's and my helmets for the past 4 years and it works OK. We don't listen to a radio or answer the phone (it's capable) while riding. It's just used for ease of talking back and forth, front seat to back seat. The only drawback is it only has a 4 to 5 hour battery life between charges.

Can youse guys hear the microwave, or Capucino machine buzzer go off with these accoutrement's installed? Or do you have them synced into your dolby 5.1 surround sound system? And if you are reading this while riding, do you pull over before responding or just use your voice to text feature?

We have a scala we bought when we traveled with the fat boy and used it twice we found it difficult to hear even with a ff helmet. My wife also said that being on the back of the bike is her time to relax and not think she can talk to we once we are off the bike, that works for me too. We also have a touring bike that has a built in comm system we do use it more but still not often maybe a half dozen times in the last year and we do ride alot

Sena has a smh10 clamp that uses earbuds instead of speakers. Still pairs to passenger, phone, Ipod, GPS, bike to bike etc.
