No MSRP price tags?

Yes they still do.
In 1986, a dealer over the phone lied to me and said the FXSTC MSRP was $1K more than it listed for on the HD site.
I corrected her and she told me the dealer I ended up buying the bike from was stupid for selling it that low.

Yep, they definately do. I asked one of the sales guys at one of the dealerships I stopped at about a CVO Road Glide price. He told me 38K.
Website says 33..................

Msrp= manufacturer SUGGESTED retail price, that doesn't mean he has to sell for that much, his overhead and other expenses will always figure into the price of everything. thats why you shop around

The dealers I frequent in Indiana have the EXACT price on their bikes that shows on the website. Of course they add in some dealer prep BS but NOT 5K.

A weak economy has been bad for business, but dealers have been overcharging for years. I've got to the point I will not buy a new bike from a dealer, There are too many late model, low mile bikes out there for sale, at great prices! My last 3 bikes have been late model, low mile garage queens.

The MSRP is just a suggestion, but it also keeps the dealerships in check. The dealership can charge whatever they want, but if they charge too much over MSRP constantly then it is likely Harley will shut them down. HD cares because if dealerships picked the price point and set it too high, then less bikes would be sold. A Harley is pretty much the only vehicle, besides Scion (that has a different pricing policy), that anyone would even CONSIDER paying MSRP for.
