Default Vivid Black paint

Just used muguiars swirl x and a yellow foam pad on an orbital buffer ..The results were amazing !!!! I had to repeat it a couple of times but there were no swirls spider webs etc. ...I talking perfection

It took a lot of testing but the results were awesome .I tried meguiars #82 first but it didn't have enough cut .

Good to know. I remember reading on another site that vivid black, mainly the gas tanks, require odd combos to buff out.

Such as using a fine polish on a cutting pad like you did, or using a heavier compound on a finishing pad.

I had some light scratches from a dirty rag I used by accident . That combo took them out ...it took me a couple of applications but I now swear by this ..I have OCD about the paint finish and I was actully astounded by the results

Just remember that you only have so much clear coat so it wouldn't be a good idea to use swirl remover/compound very often. I'll usually machine polish or compound once a year unless there is a special occasion. Vivid black sucks ... but it can look so good ................ for about two minutes ;-)

Yea, but when it looks good . . . . nothing looks better, or sets off the chrome as well . . . .
