Are they the only HD dealer in town? I know they are a giant dealer. Other than selection I have never heard anything good about them.
As I remember when I checked their prices online back a ways they were expensive too.
How far to the nearest dealer?
Regardless of the jokers on here, 3-4 weeks total is WAY out of reason.

Why would a broken stud require a new head?

There is another dealer in Las Cruces, NM. Depending on what side of town he lives on, it's 20-40mi away. It's owned by Barnett also. We're pretty much screwed here for dealers. Beyond the two we have here, we can always head out to Albuquerque, NM.

It shouldn't. But this dealer can be special at times.

man, i had an exhaust stud break on my bike once. took it to the local indy, he used this handy dandy little tool from jims and was able to drill the broken stud out without removing the head. total cost to me was $100. had it done in an afternoon.

here's a link to the tool:

Take it to a reputable machine shop and you could have probably had it done within a day

Perhaps not everyone is as smart, mechanically inclined, has the tools or the time as you.
Thats a bullshit statement.

I live in El Paso as well, take it to Edge Kawasaki. Most of their mechanics used to work at Barnett.
