I saw a post the other day about someone buying a new 07 below MSRP. I didn't think this was even possible! In fact, most dealers in our area (Connecticut) pride themselves on offering a bike at MSRP. I am curious if anyone was successful buying a newbike below the MSRP.

Yes. It's just a number and that number has profit in it.

But, it's up to the dealer and you and the alignment of the planets at the moment.

 

They seem to hate to go below MSRP, that can be the line in the sand with some of them. I too have read here where some have do it. But, if you can't get that to work thenyou can fight setup, title/paperwork fees, the cost of extended warranty, after purchase discounts on cloths/chrome and service. When the door closes in one area you move to thenext one.

 

That may have been my post you are referring to. I have found that SOME dealers will sell their Special Edition Bikes (ie, Police Office Edition, etc), to those persons that the Special Edition bike is aimed at, at BELOW Msrp.

For example, the local Dealer offered to sell me an 07 Ultra POE, for about 1500 below MSRP. I asked if I could get the same deal on a regular production Ultra, and was told NO.

 

bought my 07 rkc in nov 06 for $1000.00 under msrp and got a free screaming eagle full face helmet with the deal. i got a call from another illinois dealer telling me that on jan 21 they will be offering$ 2000.00 off msrp on all touring bikes
