Check this auction on ebay for a 2006 night train. The guy states that it has a factory 6 speed tranny that came like that. In the questions people ask he states it is not a typo. Icould be wrong but I thought the 6 speeds were on the dyna's for 2006 not the softails

grunt is right, it didn't come from the factory that way. ONLY Dyna's had the sixth gear as a standard factory part before 07.
But there is an accessory6 speed gearset upgrade for older TC Softail's and FL's that the dealer could haveinstalled before they sold it to him. I know many of the dealers around here will install some accessories on a bike that they have on display, but that would be thefirst time I ever heard of where a dealer stucka$2000 part setin one.
I believe that all of theupgrade gear sets come witha newchrome end plate that's marked"Screaming Eagle 6 speed" on it. Wonder if his has one like that on it.
I'm just notsure when they becameavalable as a cataloged accessory part.

 

You'd think he'd know in that 2,000 miles that he's rode it, whether or not it had 5 speeds or 6 speeds..................Now there are alsoa couple different people writing him and informing him that somebody has the same pictures of that bike up on another auction or something? I'd stay away from this one......

 

He could have ordered ther bike and told the dealer he wanteda 6 sp. No telling what the dealer told him,( Oh yea, we can get you a nightrain with a 6 sp)all he knows his bike was delivered with the 6.- (Just a possibility)

Could it be he's confusing year of registration 2006 with model year? Though he states it's 1450cc close to 88 cu inch so that is 2006 .... strange one this.

 

He's clearly stating that "2006 is the first year they came out with the 6 speed transmission. Yes, it does have a 6 speed transmission, this isnt a typo." but we all know that the only 2006 model with a 6 speed tranny from the factory was the Dyna.
