Motorcycle rack for motorhome
I'm heading out to look at a Class A Diesel, 34 ft Motorhome. I will want to put a rack (lift) on the back to carry my bike. Anyone have a recommendation. There seem to be dozens to choose from when I do a Google search.

Ask the guys on RV.net/forum. They'll have an answer for you.

Interesting. In all of my years I have to admit I have never seen an actual rack on the back of an RV holding up an 800 pound bike. Most of them seem to trailer them. Keep us posted on what you find.

Check out the "Idaho Tote" http://www.idahotote.com/ There are others like it too. It hooks to the back of your MH, but acts as an extension of the MH instead of a trailer. So you don't have the maneuverability issues that you would have with a trailer. The wheels swivel.

google "swivel wheel trailer" to get other manufacturers. The guys on the RV forum really like these. One guy made his own that is low enough to drive right onto.

Had a guy in my (Peterbilt) shop last year with a modified wheelchair lift that was attached to his motorhome and he had his Softail on it. Worked absolutely slick and raised and lowered like a dream-wish i'd taken pictures

Recently I went to the Thunder Beach Rally in Panama City. A gentleman there had a setup similiar to the ones I described above. Difference was the price. His price was about a 1/4 of the other systems. Not only did I like the price his does not modify your existing hitch. You still have to weld two sections to the frame but that is it. When I can convince my wife to allow me to spend the money I will be buying that system.
I have the guys card but google Mighty Hauler. Good luck on the 34ft RV. You will really enjoy it!

Thanks for all the input guys. I like the idea of a rack (lift) better than the swivel wheel because when it's not in use, many of them fold flat against the back of the RV so nothing is sticking out and you don't have to find a place to store it when not in use. The Mighty Hauler 1000M looks good for only $995. I didn't pull the trigger on the Motorhome I looked at today but it gave me an excuse to go on a 300 mile round trip ride. I'ver got a few more to look at. So far I've looked at a 40, 36 and 34. I've got another 36 to look at and a 38 and maybe some others. The 34 with 3 slides seemed as roomy as the 40 with 2 yet easier to get around with, plus it's about $40K cheaper. I'll update this when I get one and put a rack on it. Thanks again.

Cruiser lift is a good system. I pull my 4X4 GMC behind the diesel pusher and the bike rides in the bed of the truck. If I don't need the truck the bike goes in a trailer.
