Default Fork Bag Radio by JRK5892 review

Just wanted to put out a word for Joe, (JRK5892) and his quality work. I wanted to install a radio on my 04 softail but didn't want to go with a bulky $1,000.00 radio from Harley. Joe builds these speaker bags with quality speakers and amps and they fit in a small Harley Davidson fork bag. It's a clean discrete setup with unbelievable sound output. I'm very pleased with his work, and would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in a radio/mp3 setup.

Hope Joe doesn't mind I'm using a link from his site. Here's a picture of his work looks identical to the bag I received.

Cost me $300, and it was well worth it. I'm very impressed with the quality of the bag. I will test the volume at highway speeds this weekend. Definitely an awesome deal if you need a discrete way to catch some tunes without ruining the looks of the bike.

G9803,

When you post the reults of the sound test how about posting up some pics of your set up. Is it behind a windshield, were you wearing a helmet, is so what was it (3/4, FF, half). Speeds tested at.

I've looked at Joe's speaker bags before when I was in the dyna forum. Seem pretty decent though I have heard some mixed reviews on it. But reviews can very from person to person depending on what they expected.

personally I think being behind any type of cover will help. I used to have cycle sounds 2" speakers and amp on my dyna, they were okay behind the windshield but sounded a littel better when I put a Memphis Shades batwing on it and had them mounted up inside it some.

On a side note, I would never spend the $ on their 2 inch system again. Overall I was not impressed with it.

All, i'll update with pics this weekend. I'm running a half helmet, and no windshield. My only concern is I'm running Vance and Hines big radius pipes with big city thunder baffles. I'm wondering how easily I could hear the music at highway speeds. I'll find out this weekend, hopefully (a bit under the weather so it'll
be a day or two until I can test it).

I'm integrating Bluetooth capabilities with the bag, this way I can stream pandora from
my iPhone rather than plugging in via the 3.5mm cable.

I was able to sneak in a ride last night. I'll do my best to post pics of the bag later today. Keep in mind I'm running V&H big radius pipes with big city thunder baffles. The radio was nice and loud up until about 50-55mph. The wind tends to get pretty loud after those speeds. I was surprised I could hear it pretty well over my pipes too (and they're loud). For being a relatively cheap radio, I'm pretty happy with it. This is great for around town, or within city limits. Anything on the highway you can pretty much forget about it, the wind is just too loud.

All in all I'm happy with it. Most of my commutes aren't highway rides. Joe did a great job I'd definitely recommend these radios to others. I have a few coworkers and friends that are interested in purchasing so I'm sure you'll have some guys reaching out to you Joe.
