Default Seattle????

Anyone in the Seattle area? Looks like I'll be relocating there. Really planning on a short commute, be it rent or buy condo or whatever. Good rides in the area getting away from the drizzle?
Thanks

I am in the USAF and was stationed at McChord AFB a couple years ago (about 45 miles South of Seattle). My daughter is a UW student there and I plan on settling in that area in a year or two. The drizzle can be a distractor but the summer offers some of the best riding weather and roads you will ever see. The I-5 traffic is not scooter friendly but once you get off it and head into to the mountains you will really enjoy yourself. The winters are fairly mild so you can almost ride year round.

Check out Hwy 20, Northern Cascades Natl. Park., Whidby Island, Mt Ranier and the coastal Hwy 1.

Here is a link to a book about rides in the Northwest. When the sun is out, it is one of the most spectacular places in the country. Housing costs are steep although you can find reasonable rental rates. Check out craigslist.seattle.org for an idea of whats available. Let me know when you arrive and I will be more than happy to give you a tour.

Thanks all. I failed to say I’ve been to Seattle a few times, and still want to go. I haven’t been to McChord, but I was at Fairchild where they have really bad winters. A friend’s daughter also went to UW. Glad to hear of the good roads and riding weather. AND glad to see some of you are on WG’s. That was me “life sucked, then I bought a WG”. Thanks for the links. Yea, I know the short commute thing is a laugh. I know others who live there (don’t know a soul who rides though) and they long commute. I just need a living room the bike will fit in. ha. And that means I’m in.
