Exclamation Main Accessory switch

I am wondering if anyone can help me ??. I have a 2009 Electra Glide Classic and when I turn the main switch to accessory my head lights, driving lights (I know I have a switch to turn these off) and tail lights all stay on. If I wanted to listen to the stereo in the accessory position, it would be short lived with all the lights on. Any suggestions or fixes ??

that is ridiculous if it's a factory thing! My 88 bagger doesn't light anything up in that position. Don't know what to tell ya, I'm not up on the newer sleds!
Hatch.

Hmm, not sure but did you have any electrical work done for your lights? My '08 Street Glide only lights up the instrument cluster when in acc mode. I was thinking maybe somehow your lights are on constant power when the switch is thrown in any position and not just to the "on" position.

Thanks to all for the help (AT LEAST I HOPE IT'S NOT A CANADA THING....eh!!!....LOL) The first position to the right on the main switch is ignition and the second position is accessory. I am wondering if it may have something to do with the factory security system. This is not a security system that I can turn off or on with a key fob, I have to have this key fob on my person or within a short distance of the bike in order for it to start. I saw the mate to my bike the other day and when the switch was turned to accessory, no headlights, driving lights or taillights came on.
STILL HOPING TO FIND AN ANSWER

On my 99 Wide Glide, turning the switch to the right is the run position. Turning it to the left is accessory and I get the headlight on too. Everything works in accessory position except the starter

I always wondered what was up with that....and I still dont know

I've got a 2010 Ultra Classic with the HD security system (w/ proximity key fob). When in the ACC position the radio stays on, but headlights, etc turn off. FYI.

My ignition switch just failed it was causing the bike to shut down, turn the radio off while riding, turn it on when it was off and then nothing. I would look hard at that switch as prior to the problem I could turn to accessory position and the radio and cig lighter where hot but no lights. The Head Mech at the deal in my area told me they have had some issues with the switch but not a huge problem. He did allow that is the one place where both ignition and accessory come together. Let us know what you find out.
