Boots & Jackets: where to go in Toronto?
Fathers Day this weekend and mama wants to get me a new pair of bike boots, and I might look at new jackets for both of us.
Any ideas where to go in the greater Toronto (or Golden Horseshoe) area?
I've heard Doc's in dowtown Toronto is okay but a tad pricey. TIA.

could try Royal Distributing? or sport bike store like Parker Brothers, Kahuna Powersports, GP Bikes, there is a leather store outside Hamilton with alot of leather jackets cheap? Cant remember the name. All have cruiser gear in a large enough selection to try on before you buy.

Do a google search of the Old hide house in Acton. check their prices. I know that the leather is high quality. It's on hwy 7 between Georgetown & Guelph. Or take hwy 25 off the 401 & that will get ya there.
Hatch.

Although you said you were looking in TO or down through the Golden Horseshoe, if you're willing to head 20 miles east for jackets try Steve's Leather Fashions, 70 Bond St W, Oshawa ON. Steve makes great jackets and vests. Unique, comfortable, great leather and he does repairs like no one else.... often while you wait. Despite the name, these are riding jackets.

Thanks for the ideas!
I bought my first bike jacket from the Old Hyde House in Acton about 30 years ago. Wife talked me into donating it away during a closet purge about 3 years ago, just before i decided to get back into riding; pretty pissed at that as it was a great quality jacket. Think I'll take a ride there this afternoon.
Checked in Kahuna & GP already, and haven't been in Royal for a year but will stop by there too as well as Steve's.

I don't mind cross-border shopping (just not cross-dressing), but I don't know any places over there. Have to check into that!

if you're into the online shopping thing I came across this site today http://www.canadasmotorcycle.ca Pricing seems great and free shipping. I am in the market for some new rubber and they will be getting my business.
