Default Fxr Forwards To Mids

Hi, have a few questions about switching an fxr from forwards to mid controls. Does someone offer a kit to do this, or just peice together from stock parts. What about the forward mounts after? Easy job for a regular guy? Is there any models that can't accept mids?

Thanks
Chris

FXRs are all mid controls so if yours is forward controls someone has made the change, if you get hold of the mid control parts should be easy to just bolt them on, wether you'd be able to get them from an HD dealership I don't know, possibly Dyna controls would fit, as I recall when I put forwards on my old FXR they bolted to where the cruising ( think that's the right word for them ) pegs go.

Hmm, interesting to know they where all mids. Does not seems to be to much info out there on this, or I just suck.

If you have any reference material, links etc, post it up, would be appreciated.

Just thought you will also need a brake fluid container which bolts on to the bottom of the triangle part of the frame on the right hand side ( as you sit on the bike ) unless your mechanically minded might be better to let a dealer do it as the brakes will obviously need bleeding.

As Magna stated, all FXRs came with mid controls so somebody changed them to forwards before you got them. The mid control setup is fairly easy to find, paying for them is not. Expect to pay upwards of $300.00 for a decent set on Ebay. You'll have to get left and right peg mounts and pegs, shift lever, shift linkage and inspection cover, brake pedal and brake rod. If your current forwards have the m/cyl. at the pedal, you'll also have to get a new m/cyl. and brake hose.

As i said, they are available on Ebay:
Set one w/out m/cyl.
Set two, same as set one
