Default Gas mileage

I own a '05 Softail and am concerned about the gas mileage im getting. I hear on the forum that some of you guys are getting 200 plus per tank(5 gal). I have filled up 2 times now with the premium gas and im getting right at 130 miles on the tank. I checked on the pump that in fact I was putting in 5 gallons. What could be wrong?

Its brand new with only 330 miles on her. Shes fuel injected. Has the stage 1 on her.
I dont know what else could determine the reason for this except that maybe my idiot dealer mapped the thing wrong, but that is just me being paranoid. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
George

Is that 130 miles in the city or on the highway?
Riding style has a lot to do with it as well.

Check the plugs, if they are black and oily you are running rich. I generally fill my Dyna at 150 miles and it takes about 3 gallons. I do most riding in the country with trips to work during the week.

I don't know what to tell you about your mpg. I've heard that sometimes it has to do with the quality of the gas that you use, the way that you treat your throttle, whether it's in town driving or freeway driving. I had good mpg right from the start. I even called the mechanic where I bought my bike and complimented him on it. He was happy to get the news. I've averaged about 50 mpg since I bought it. The best was 54 and the worst (bucking strong winds) was about 46.

Mine was getting crappy gas mileage when I was breaking it in. Now I get 40 - 45 mpg.

Quit letting it warm up so long! 60 minutes is too much!

Mine got better after breaking it in as well. What kind of RPMs are you running? I think it will improve, though I would agree, that is low.

I get about 160miles per tank around town. Not much more from highway miles. I'm happy with it, I have the 95 kit in mine and it runs great.

I checked my gas mileage for the first time recently after a fill up. (I have an '05 Deuce w/FI) I had gotten about 45mpg, which was fine, I think, considering I had been doing a lot of city riding.

On a recent 1208 mile ride my 05 Ultra was averaging about 51mpg. Thats riding two up and mostly on 2 lane curvy road with many rolling hills. It has always been pretty good, but did get better when fully broken in.
