Can not get security system to disarm
I have a 2007 softail custom and ran into an unusual problem yesterday regarding the security system. The bike recognizes the FOB when nearby (lights don't flash) but will not fully disarm the system. I even tried bypassing it with the pin using the turn signals but the system will not enter the mode to do it as instructed. Disconnected the battery and replaced the FOB battery but system still is locked up. Anyone run into this before?

Tried that already too and did not work. Dealer recommended letting it to sit for 20 minutes before trying again to reset and also did not work. Also read switching the ignition switch on and off 10 times would reset it. No luck there either.

Do you have any new electronic devices in your house? Any businesses
close by that may have a wireless alarm system newly intalled? Try moving the bike away from your house about 100 feet or so & try it again.

It happened outside a restaurant. Had the bike towed home and still doing it. Also tried using the 2nd FOB. Do you think it could be a low bike battery not having enough juice to get it fully disarm?

5 Years. Just talked to a Service Manager at a Dealership. They are completely mystified over this. Said the culprit is usually a low battery in the FOB but have never seen this before.

moving it 100 ft away isn't necessary either. if there is something nearby that is interfering with the signal, then using the override code will take care of that. if you cant enter the override code, then something else is wrong.
since the bike is at your house already, and you've already put new batteries in your fobs, then i would definitely take a look at the bike battery. how old is it? put a multimeter on it, throw it on a charger, or if you have access to another, replace it completely and see what happens.
*edit* just read where you said it is five years old. sounds like it's time for retirement. did you tell the dealership how old it is? and they didn't try to sell you a new one?

Does your fob have the Prox sensor or button? On my wide glide, I pinched the wires to the security antennae and it couldn't pick up the fob. Once I realized what happened, I'd already set off the alarm. Once the alarm went off, it wouldn't give me enough time to enter the pin. I would wait for it to stop going off, but once I turned the the ignition on to start the procedure, the alarm would go off before I could finish.
