Can not get security system to disarm
#12
My battery in my 07 this spring lit up the lights and seemed OK, but it wouldn't start the bike after sitting a while if not on the tender.
put a 2 amp charge on it and it was fine for a day or so then the same. lights up ok just not enounh to start her.
Saying if u had Ur bike on a tender it may have started at home but it won't hold a charge long enough to start later.
So it could be the battery. 5yrs old, its time for a new one anyway.

I pulled the battery and going to replace it tomorrow. Will be bizarre if that was the problem but it is time for new one. Will let you guys know and thanks for all the suggestions!

Replaced the battery and the problem did not go away. Going to have to take the bike in for the Dealership to put it on the computer to troubleshoot. Beginning to sound like the security module may have locked up or gone bad.

Isn't there a sensor in the handle bars on those? If I recall??? A tilt sensor... try giving the handle bars a tap with a rubber mallet... it is possible that the circuit is open there... jus' sayin'
I use a Scorpion system so it's different.

Security system failure
Has anyone figured out the resolution to this mystifying thread We're stuck in Crested Butte CO with all of the same symptoms. Finally popped the batteries out of the FOB and then were able to get to entering the code as instructed by the dealership but the bike still wouldn't start. The bike however did start acting more normal and the light stopped flashing. Next suggestion from the dealership was to let it sit for 20 minutes. We have done that and tried to reenter the code again and are now waiting. Nice honeymoon vacation for us! My Honda on the other hand starts with the key and is doing fine. Ready to give up on Harley!

It is always good to double check your work.
Go back to the fob and check if the + is facing up. The battery may be upside down.
The bike's alarm antennae may need to be replaced. It is about $60.
