Got a one or two (I forget) gallon pump/compressor that I can fill up and take around to the garage or barn (for mower and stuff).

I dont think this is fact. Once the temp goes back up 10 degree's, the 1 PSI returns. Air is a gas, and it expands with heat as well as contracts with cold.
