FLAT TIRE ! Heartwarming Good people still out there
On the way to Myrtle Beach for the day to meet up will some friends that came down from Delaware..
20 miles S of Charleston I guess I ran something over and it sheered the valve stem in half on the rear tire (found it when I got home). It went down in less than a minute, started feeling the back end wobble, On the side of the road I inspected the tire for the usual nail, screw,etc..
Guy stopped with his kids asked if I was ok,, "no got a flat"
He then proceded to go down the road looking for a tire store .
Came back and offered me his van and trailer. He had to wait until his wife got off from work, so I was stuck on the side of the road for 3-4 hrs waiting for him.
He came back and handed me the keys to his van and said I really don't use it just bring it back when you get time..
An event like this you really re-consider how "alone" you can be..
On the side of the road NOBODY even stopped and plenty of bikes singles and groups didn't even acknowledge me.. kinda dissapointed in that because I've stopped and help others. I even had my hands up giving thumbs down, etc etc
I also posted this in the Touring section

Some of us still suscribe to the "10 Fold" rule. I've stopped out on the hi-way to assist a few times. Anything from a cresent wrench to a few oz. of gas.... No worries friend, they're still out there.....I've been lucky, myself. No hi-way troubles here...
Best wishes....Tim(HT).... from Pembroke
