I'm a lightweight on a HD forum online? Yeah I'll lose sleep over that one tonight. Jesse James has a point, so do I. The MOTORCYCLES are overpriced. The V-Rod is half the performance machine the ZX-14 is, but it's alot more money. Hell the thing got spanked on pinks by some old POS jap bike. But the old style motors (evos, pans, shovels) were great. Hell the old style bikes were great. But now it's not a motorcycle company, it's a lifestyle company. You used to be part of the lifestyle and bought the bike. Now you walk into the stealership and they're selling you on the lifestyle. It's alot like tattooing/piercing has become over the last several years. But yeah, with HD's success, gone is the image of old and in comes the upscale image to attract the yuppies. So up go the prices, to the point where it's just stupid that a new HD costs more than alot of cars do. Hell I think you can get a full done glide up to the 30K range. That's more than a Mustang GT! So yeah I bash Harleys, modern ones at least. The good ones died when the Evo motor died. Everything since is just a shadow of what once was an american icon. At least in my mind, in alot of peoples minds.
BTW can anyone believe this whole thing started over a relatively simple question regarding a jacket? Yeesh.

I just outgrew my ol Brooks leather I bought back in the 70's, plus the wife washed the liner and shrunk it. So I bought a FXRG for a song and man what a jacket. Armor, kidney belt, liner and very heavy leather. Very nice and its probably one leather jacket worth $600, just glad I didn't have to pay that much cuz I would still be looking.....I'm cheap! lol

The buy American in me says buy from Fox Creek...that said I might buy from Fox Creek or I might buy the FXRG during a 20 percent off sale.The Fox Creek's nice from what I hear and the FXRG is perfect from what I know by trying it on at the dealer.
Leaning towards the FXRG at the momment.As far as choices ? Really makes no sense in caring what other riders think of your bike,or the way you dress etc.No matter what you do there will always be some intolerant idiot who won't approve of you.

Dam cabin fever is setting in, Has anybody been eatin the deadly yellow snow while drinking Redneck Budweisers ! FXRG is water proof. Has gortex in it.

It amazes me that so many people are willing to spend 20K, 30K, 40K or more on their bike and have such a hard time parting with their money for some first rate protective gear. Six Hundred bucks isn't anybody's life savings, and If you keep in touch with your local dealership you can get a $600.00 FXRG jacket for 20%-25% off...then it's only a $450.00-$480.00 jacket.

Thats a fine jacket wish I could afford it.I can't see paying $600.00 for any kind of jacket when I can spend that on some horsepower!!!!!.

Was at the Dealer yesterday. They had a collection of leather for 40% off. Of course the FXRG was Not one of them.

I have one and I love it. All the liners come out and you can wear it all seasons. AND chicks dig it.
