Default question about wild 1 chubby ape hangers

im about 5"9 and thinking of getting the 2012 fatboy lo and was just wondering whats the difference between WO614 CHUBBY® 14" OUTLAWZ and WO572 CHUBBY® 14" APE HANGER,they have a little different design, have different "pull back"measurements, can somone who is very knowledgeable on apes tell me the difference between these two apes and what pullback is? also wondering if 14s or 16s would be good for a fatboy lo? im 5:9

I have the Wild 1 chubby in 14", I dont think they are the Outlaws but cant remember. I am 5'8" and they are about the perfect height for me. I did ride a Dyna with 18" for about 6 hours and they were manageable so I would go for 16".

2007 FXDC.

I thought the 572's were for RK's, softails and Dynas, and the 614's are for touring bikes with fairings. Give Wild 1 a call and verify.

i will give them a call and ask to see if 572s are for softails, yeah i sat on a bike at a harley dealer and the 16s actually felt pretty comfortable, wish i could find a bike with 14s so i can compare, and ride to see how riding a bike with apes feel, one more question how long does it take to riding with apes going from stock bars?

No time at all to get used to. I at first had them angled closer to me but after a few rides, tilted them up to give more height, but lean forward a bit more.

Also, with 14s, check on whether you have to change cables. Stock may be too short. I went with steel braided in any case.

I spoke with a Wild 1 tech last week about putting 572's (14" apes) on a RK. He said I'd need +8" cables. I do not know if the same length is required for other model bikes, but the guys at Wild 1 are good about answering fitment questions over the phone.

everything you want to know is all on the Wild1 website.

http://www.wild1inc.com/

Click on the "Handlebar 101" box on the left - it will explain all the measurements with pics. They have pictures of the different bars if you click on the "Chubby Bars" box.

standard 14" apes:

I don't understand why people don't call the manufacturer first and give them a chance to sell your the value of their products first hand... Asking product opinions here is like cheating on your final from the class clown
