2 herniated disks in my neck between 3-4 and 4-5, I run 18's on my Wideglide. I can tell you this if they are to far forward it will hurt you, pull them back and get a back rest. With them in the right position they are right at shoulder height, rode 10hrs Friday 350 miles and the bike has next to 0 suspension travel, no pain.

 

C5-c6 anterior cervical laminectomy ( spinal fusion) about 3 years ago and it wasn't the end of the world. I was back riding with neck brace and ff helmet within a month. I feel so much better it is amazing. Recovery is no joke but well worth it for relief frm neck n shoulder pain.
