I know not everybody has this option, but my 09 Ultra radio has the aux plug. I ran a cable from it through the bike to the rear luggage compartment along with an aux cig lighter adapter. I plug my Android phone in back there with the Nav On and turn by turn is then transmitted through my stereo while I stream internet radio. I don't care if I can see the screen on the phone when I can hear the turn by turn over the stereo.

Just ordered a Garmin 1490LMT off Amazon $155 will see how this goes the reviews looked pretty good. Have a TOM TOM oneXL now that Ive had good luck with in the truck but got tired of paying for the map updates and the one time I did try it on the bike it was hard to see. This Garmin has lifetime map updates and Sunlight-readable screen.

I picked a Garmin 665 up off of eBay for $500 shipped. Emailed the seller and we worked out the deal. The 665 is very expensive but it is sweet. If you want cheaper the Garmin 220 is nice too.

Most smartphones have google maps already installed, and there is easily 100 free navigation apps.
And even if you lose cell service the directions will still come up,you just won't get the pin drop until you have service again. Save the money you were gonna spend on a navigation device and put it towards a radar detector.

garmin 1350,go to ram mount web site and purchase heavy duty holder and the mounts that suit you. Under $200. I myself don't need to hook it to my bike's battery. Buy charger/ adapter to plug it in @ home.
