Oil Pump out..lost power
2005 Road King
was out riding last night and all of a sudden it just lost power and died. Pulled over and had the RK towed. It started up but died shortly after at the Harley indy repair shop. He says that the oil pump went out. He said that it was throwing black smoke out the tailpipes. Going to tear down the engine and see what it did? Any suggestions? Thoughts? What kind of repair bill?

If the engine ran long enough for it to "lose power" it was probably starting to seize up due to lack of lubrication (oil) and heat. Did your oil light come on before it shut off? How long did it run once you noticed it losing power? Better hold on to your wallet.....probably not gonna be cheap.
