Default Hell’s Angel thwarts robbery

http://www.thestate.com/2012/04/30/2...s-robbery.html
According to an incident report, after standing in line at the counter, the man pointed a knife at the clerk. At that point, according to the report, a jacketed, but unidentified member of the Hell's Angels motorcycle group who was behind the robber in line pulled out a collapsible baton and chased the robber from the store.
Anyone else surprised that the person who prevented the robbery wasn't arrested for carrying a weapon?

I'd be more surprised if he hung around until the cops showed up.

If he was,it wouldnt be unusual. If a "collapsible baton" is an illegal weapon in that state. It is common for someone who uses an illegal weapon, even if in self defense,to be charged, has nothing to do with any club affiliation.

No, I'm not surprised. He (the HA) did the right thing. Carrying a concealed weapon is a misdemeanor and officers have discretion regarding enforcement. My guess is the cops gave him an "atta boy" and sent him on his way if he was still around.

Stop inferring that all cops are out to get a 1%er at any cost. It simply isnt true.

Notice how little print time the hero got ? They really soft shoed his part in this complete with " Unidentified " but had it on film . Big change from the usual in this kinda article , can't have the demon kind doing good deeds and getting good press that might derail the whole propaganda train against the clubs in general .

Or the the unidentified member was the local undercover , food for thought .......

That must be it. If he was a regular upstanding member he would have helped the guy & made him split the loot with him.
