S100 Screwed up my bike
#33
S100 smells like the acid boat hull cleaners that tell you not to use it more than once a year, or you will damage your Gel Coat. Why anyone would intentionally spray Acid on a bike they care about is beyond me?
And I followed the directions to a T, when S100 etched my engine. So you guys who are jumping all over the OP are rude. And probably fat from being too lazy to wash your bike properly.

A. It is not even close to acid......it is BASIC at the other end of the pH spectrum.
B. It is a great product, period.

I never had any problems with S100. I switched to Simple Green cause it was cheaper and seemed to work better.
Was telling some one at the HD dealer that I was using Simple Green now and a customer that over heard me said his buddy destroyed the chrome on his bike with Simple Green. I told him he was full of crap.
I buy Simple Green by the gallon. I have a small pump sprayer that use to spray it in all the nooks and crannies and up inside the fenders, under the motor, trans, etc. Spray it on, rinse it off. Blow it dry with the leave blower and lemon pledge on the fenders and tank. Turtle Chrome polish on the chrome.

s100 engine brightener works fine on the engine and some wheels, just don't let it sit there for more than a minute at most. Haven't used their other products but the rest of the bike shouldn't need a product like s100. A good quality car wash and wax is plenty good.

Have to agree... I personally don't care for the S100 cleaner/wash (whatever.) Maquires car wash does a great job, and doesn't strip the wax.
However, the S100 engine brightener is the SHIZZLE!

I always thought that the removal of the cardboard was the most important thing

I've been in the collision industry for over 30 years and cleaning companies are always trying to sell the latest and greatest cleaning products. I don't know how many times customers used a new product and came back screaming and had me repair the clearcoat. By far the gentlest on your paint job is plain old liquid dish soap!!!! It's cheap & works well and if you use a good carnuba wax 3 times during the season the dish soap will not wash off the wax and the water will bead up. Just wipe down with a shammy or give it a blow dry. Wax will also build up after awhile. It also protects the paint from minor scratches and abrasions. Wash the bike in between waxes, and use Pledge if you want a quick shine.

I have used S100 for quite a few years and only had problem with the spray foam in the can. It left white pits on the aluminum forks so I stopped using it. The green liquid spray works fine however and is the best spray on stuff I've seen for cleaning aluminum. I spray it on, let it set for about 30 seconds then rinse it off really well.
