Winnipegs Hells Angel Claims his Rights were Violated
Its a slippery slope when cops start making up the rules. Even in extreme cases like this, EVERYONES civil rights have to be protected.

Wait for the outcome. He made a good case for his actions. Courts have ruled many times on the difference with actions between the experience of a veteran officer and a less experienced on the merit of the decisions and actions.
My best estimate is the actions of the officer have a slightly better than 50/50 odds of prevailing.

Never understand how a scumbag caught in an illegal act can walk or possibly walk on formality. The grit of it is he got caught. But had someone been burglarizing the shop and the officer not done what he did, he'd be internal'd either way. The justice system has become soft.

Allow it even though he was caught dirty, and you've just opened wide the door for anyone to claim their gut feelings "knew" something wasn't right.
When they kick in your door, you won't have a legal leg to stand on.

The Justice System has become all about the money. They know if they lock up the bad they will all be out of a job. So they give the criminals more rights then the Victims because that's their money stream .
This type of stuff goes on Daily and the Papers just report what they know will get readers to buy and read .

It was a business, the door was open, the cop walked in what seems to have been a place open to the public if its a business in a strip mall. Not really enough information but seems to me the cop was O.K. in his actions. Even if our drug laws are screwed up, we pay to have them inforced.

I just read the whole article... Apparently, someone exited the business, saw cops, and dashed back in.... This could be enough suspicious activity to warrant justification of actions, but then again it's Canada and I am not familiar with the Canadian Bill of Rights....
Further, the perp is a known felon, Hell's Angels associate (no offense, but they're not exactly the Boy Scouts), and was caught doing blow and about to start manufacturing something. Imho, not the best guy to have on the streets. Still, he was arrested on his own property, without any sort of search warrant. I dunno how law works in Canada, but down here that would be pretty much the last nail in the coffin for this case... Unlawful search and seizure, etc.
