short winter storage

short winter storage
Rode my 02 low rider Christmas eve. Probably will not take it out for 2-3 months. Have it parked in my garage ( about 50 degrees throughout winter ) with gas stabilizer in tank, but do not have a tender, nor is my battery disconnected. Can I just start it up every couple of weeks and run it a few minutes? Seems like 10 weeks of this not a big deal, plus, we may get some great days between now and mid March to take it out for a spin. In case I can't though, I am wondering if I can get away with the aformentioned. Also, if battery seems weak, I could always hook up my charger. Appreciate any comments and suggestions. I'm located in central CT.

RE: short winter storage
I would suggest a tender...I was never one who would fire a motor up for just 10 minutes to save a battery. If you are storing in a none controlled enviroment, starting it will help reduce moisture build up within the motor and keep everything lubed well
Just my opinion

I agree with toyrider, invest in a tender. Its just cheap insurance, and don't start the engine unless you plan on riding it a while. Just starting it for a few minutes is worse than leaving it alone. It doesn't get a chance to "cook" out all the moisture that may accumulate in there, and just collects more of the same.
