Help me choose a pipe please!
I went for a ride today and got a ticket for modifying my exhaust and making it too loud. I have a dyna super glide with cycle shack slip ons. I admit they are louder than I would like. I am looking to get a good 2 into 1 system. My question to everyone is if my cycle shacks are 10s on a loudness scale and stock exhaust a 1 where do these 2 into 1 exhausts fall. I have been looking at the pro pipe, supermeg and bassani. How loud are these compared to cycle shacks. I am ready to order now. What would you buy and why. Btw I am in the peoples republic of California. Thanks

Your pipe will determine what you have done to the motor aswell. My Dyna was really loud with my python 3s .Went to a D AND D fat cat 2/1 was a great deep mellow sound like a old big block.Wants you get on it got loud but tolerable. But my dyna was built also

Depends on what you want to spend aswell too.My fat cat was not as loud as my buddies pro pipe. But sounded better IMO. also little more money for mine .I have heard Drago bike works pipe and it was nice to .YOU tube the pipes and you can get a idea if you have good speakers on your pc

I am leaning towards the fat cats. I can only find them for 2012 switchbacks though. I think if I could find them for my bike I would jump. They come highly recommended by everyone.

I have the Fatcat quiet baffle (yeah.....right). I like it, but to me it's pretty loud. It's not going to get you a ticket if your just cruising, but she barks when you get on it. Nice quality.

CA is an awful big long state. I've done it back and forth and up and down more times than I'd like to count. With modified exhaust (sorta loud) for many years on many different bikes and have never gotten a ticket for them. Where in CA are you so I can maybe try and avoid that area. Or where you being a tool and showing off that loudness where you shouldn't have?

A modified exhaust is a modified exhaust, legally it matters not what kind you have on there unless it is the stock setup with the emissions/noise compliance statement on it. That said - I would rate the Samson 2 into 1 about 3-4 on the loudness scale and a Pro-Pipe at around 8 which is too loud for me......they do sound good though.

I am running a Thunderheader and have never been challenged about noise. But I don't think any law around here really cares unless you are acting like an a-hole. Or you come across one a-hole cop.
