Default EFI vs. Carb.

I looking into getting a 2000 or newer Fatboy and was wondering if there were any advantages/disadvantages to a Carb. as compared to EFI? I know that EFI started in 2001 and changed style in 2002 to current, but carbs have been around forever. Any input would be helpful.

I am about to embark on a long road trip. I will be seeing some drastic elevation changes with some roads over 12,000 ft. EFI will adjust the AFR and keep the bike running fairly well at that altitude. A carb bike will be slobbering rich and will not run well at all up there.

Snoman, try reading "Wada YOU think?" Before starting a new post you might want to search to see if the topic has been covered previously.

I chose EFI and love it, Houses in my neiborhood are close together, and I leave for work before my neighbors get up. With EFI I just start and go, no choke to mess with. I'm getting excellent fuel mileage, even with the stage 1 remap it is averaging 46-50.
