Default Chrome Hardware

In particular I am looking for the bolts that mount the caliper to the fork leg. I went to Ace and they had chrome bolts but none the right size and I do not believe that they were hardened. i am not sure on that part though. But they did not have bolts that were long enough it seemed for the one bolt. Anyone on here know the length of the bolt and where are you getting them besides the HD dealership?

Check out this thread,

https://www.hdforums.com/m_1101022/tm.htm

Its about polished stainless bolts for Harley's and some of the places that sell stainless bolts also sell chromed ones. Personally I would rather use polished stainless that were of the right strength because they won't rust where chrome can if the chrome gets "tweeked" a little too much for the plating to handle.

Don't worry about it, I was just pulling your chain a little.

Have fun with the bolts and let me know how tou like them. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to go all the way and replace EVERYTHING with polished stainless. Up here where things tend to get wet often the bolts, nuts and screws ona bike can go by-by in a hurry if your not careful to keep things cleaned and waxed properly.
