Ridiculous.

BTW, does anyone know the backstory on how the law in Michigan ended up getting changed? I'd love to know who is going to make money because of it (and you know someone is - that's how the world works these days, right??).

One other thing, if you think a 10-year old HD half helmet is protection, you ought to brush up on a helmet's protection life, because you're protecting very little with that one, never mind the syle choice.

I appreciate your parting statement and wish you the same and nothing but safe rides, but as far as this thread is concerned, I am out of here. I prefer logical folks to ideologues with an agenda...
First off... My post was a reply/comment to Siberian Kahtru's post...

That you chose to jump in... didn't mean I ever saw your previous post because I had just joined this site minutes before posting my comment... after someone shared Siberians post with me... and I thought it was a worth commenting on...

My reference to moving... wasn't directed to you... it was an all around, general comment... for those who can't change or adapt to the real world and some things life hands to them no matter how hardthey fight it!

If you wear a helmet at all times... and it is by choice... then you too should be given a $$$ break when it comes to other people's choices and taxes you have paid that could go to building a safer, road surface to ride on... or signage to make motorist aware of those of us who ride and state funded (Free to the Rider) Motorcycle Safety Courses, like we have here in PA!

And, as for my helmet... It was inspected and approved... to be safe... it is still in production and specs are up to date... Thank you for your concern though!

It was nice to have been treated so kind and warmly, welcomed to this forum...

A little tough on her don't you think? It is someone's choice to move because they don't like the laws of their land after all. Saying that is true certainly doesn't mean she's on crack, now does it?

I don't think she's an ideologue at all...I think she is just saying she choses to wear a helmet now because she wants to be around a while, but that she also doesn't think there should be laws enforcing that -
Unless you count the laws of common sense

Thank you!, Siberian! I like the horse, BTW!

What he or she doesn't know is that I was a member of A.B.A.T.E. for more years than I can count... fighting helmet laws...Then one day, I decided my money is better off being used serving people with Brain Injuries and Mentally Challenged Folk who can't fight for their own rights!

Thanks for the support & the respect ...

Default Washington the Nanny State....

would never repeal the law, so I don't think anyone has tried.

Besides, the flying bugs up here are as big as NYC pigeons and when they hit at 70 mph, you feel it big big. If I did live in a state that had no helmet law, I'd probably still wear one most of the time.

Default Michigan's move

I do agree, with all the different views we all have. But, ALWAYS remember, WE are supposed to be a free country! Freedom of choice, Freedom of speech, Free to move around in the manner WE so Choose! You don't have to like what others are doing, it's none of your business! Please mind your own! I read about the Florida story saying that fatalies went up by 81% ? Did anyone else read this? Why can't I find ANY articles to support this claim? People! You are educated enough to know right from Bullshit. Sometimes the information hwy, is not always completly true. Sift though it. There are really good organizations out there, fighting for YOU and me! There are also the others that are not in your favour. Whatever it is you like or don't, find those groups and support them! Jion them. They are fighting your fight. They need your help and or money to keep on keepin on! The Motorcycles Riders Foundation and Abate are going to the limit for us! Lastly, remember, next time the Gov. Machine decides to take a freedom of CHOICE away, it may not be a helmet choice. It could be something YOU believe in! That's the time it was too late to be complacent! Try to get it back, once it's gone.

Why is this big "freedom" movement not directed at seatbelts? Or windshields?
