Calling off from work to go riding?
Do you ever call off from work to go riding? I really want to today. Its the first nice day all week, where there is no rain or 15 to 20mph winds. Damn you work! An Damn you to Sun, why you no shine on my days off!

I've always had this strange fear that if I call out of work because of something ficticious and bad (death in family, car accident) that it might bite me in the *** somehow...
My answer? Diarrhea. Just tell the boss I can't stay off the ******* long enough to even take a shower. In fact, I think tomorrow I'll tell him I **** myself on the way in, and enjoy a long weekend.

I'm lucky, we can opt for comp time when we do overtime so when we need time off we just use time we have earned with no questions asked! Sometimes you want to ride, sometimes you need to ride!

Yes yes, the old stomach bug is always the way to go. No one ever questions you about sitting on the pot all day.

I have a bunch of floating holidays, but they ask for at least a few days notice unless a emergency happens. But it seems when ever I schedule one of those days off the damn weather always goes bad on me. I swear its a conspiracy with my boss and the weather man!
