I have six weeks of vacation accrued each year (34 years with the same company), but the catch is that I can't actually TAKE six weeks off, as I'm the last person here who can do my job. As a result, I take most of my vacation in 1/2 to 1 day increments on nice days so I can ride. Fortunately, my boss is pretty understanding about this, and lets me take an afternoon on fairly short notice unless there's something critical happening.

If you pose as a client, I’ll get paid mileage.
What do you need?

One of the perks of the job - I can come and go as I please. I tell them I'm taking the afternoon off and they just laugh - they know where I'm going.
