Would you please point out in the Constitution where it says you have a right to know someone's private business, or even the police's business?

Default On a personal level

I usually don't pay a lot of attention to these threads, my interest is more on the level of being aware of what others experience/see.

However just a short while ago I had an experience that both surprised and quite honestly, annoyed me.

A friend stopped by and asked if I felt up for a short cruise. He is in his 50's has a Kawasaki Concours, Neon lit gear, etc. I am 62 with an older FLHS. I wear a FF helmet, "Armor" Jacket, etc.
Neither of us look "Dangerous".

While cruising out of town we are behind a Sheriffs car, he signals pulls onto the shoulder, we pass and he immediately cuts back into line in front of other cars behind us and makes a run up towards our back side. He follows for a while, and then cuts away.

Hard NOT to feel that he singled us out for a 2nd look, and when he saw our tags were up to date (Or called our plate numbers in?) he peeled off and went on his way when nothing showed.

Yes, nothing was done, except that it was an obvious check on us, and why?????????

I am getting more and more uneasy at all levels of government. They do not seem to know who to go after and seem to concentrate as much on us as the obvious bad guys. Maybe we are just easier to nail. Anyone else feel that they see more speed traps, more profiling of citizens, certainly I'm seeing more RED LIGHT CAMERA's (They just installed #26 out of 50 planned for the area.)

They (The Government) can't seem to stop the Illegals, and it took forever to find Bin Laden, but they sure have stepped up screwing with ordinary citizens at all levels of enforcement.

Since driving itself, and the use of the States highways and roads are a priviledge (that can be revoked), and not a right, there is nothing wrong or illegal in checking your plates. Settle down guys. You're getting paranoid foe nothing. BTW, chrome helmets do not take the place of a good foil hat.

Profiling at it's finest. OH that reminds me. Last week I had a cop do u-turn just to run my plates on his computer, I guess he thought an old man looked scary.

Lancaster Police Chief Keith Sadler said two officers from the city assisted Manheim Township police in checking a large group of motorcyclists passing through. Sadler said he could not confirm a report of a planned motorcycle rally in the area.

Wow. I'll bet there were a large group of 4 wheeled vehicles also passing through the same area at the same time. Perhaps they were able to confirm that there was a planned passenger vehicle rally in the area...
