I don't like to wash my scooter or ride in the rain. But . . . a good way to spend a rainy afternoon is to wash & detail your bike (in the garage along with your favorite libation).

little bit of a sidebar - In the past I have always ragged on denim paint (looks like primer, etc.). Well, a couple of months ago bought a new Black Denim Street Bob and I am sold on denim paint. Very easy to keep clean and looking great.

Daily commute here. Still the scoot gets it's due once per week, and maint when it's needed. Keeps the scoot reliable.

Ride more than wash! Bike gets washed when it gets serviced (windshield as needed) or if I get caught in a storm then I'll do it or when I am attending a KIA funeral.

Who could possibly spend more time cleaning a bike than riding it? I don't think letting my bike rot away under an inch of dirt and bug guts is the answer but how long does it really take to wash it and keep it looking decent. I guess having your bike look like chit goes along with the "Are you a biker or a poser?" thread! To each his own...

If you(not you personally, you in the general sense) put 2500 miles a year on your bike but you wash it every week and are out in the garage every couple days rubbing and polishing, then I guess you wash it more than ride it.

I enjoy cleaning all my toys as much as I enjoy riding them. I believe it comes from having to work hard for what I have my whole life.
