Clean or ride your bike more?

LOVE chrome and continue adding more, but I will ALWAYS pick a ride over a wash! She is lucky to get a bath 2 or 3 times a year, and it is only times when riding is not an option. Believe me, she gets plenty dirty as she is a daily commuter that gets over 10K a year put on her.

Cleaning a bike is a good way to find problems, I can't tell you how many times I've come across a loose fastner, oil leak/weep etc while giving my bike a good cleaning. I've seen bikes so dirty you couldn't tell if there was a leak or just dirt. Just the other day I cleaned my bike and found one of the muffler shields loose.

I wash mine when I ride - we have a power washer at the company shop that will peel chrome, and our own reverse osmosis water system. Blast the bugs off, rinse off with pure water (no spots) and back on the road in ten minutes.

I ride it every day and park it on cement next to a building in a dirt lot with trucks driving around all day. I have to dust it every night when I get off, and I blow it off with the compressor every weekend. Wipe the bugs off it with a wet rag every weekend if I got the time. Wipe it down with Wizards when theres a run or Im goin somewhere.
Whos got time for anything else?

I wash my FLHX 3 times a year. Thats it. Wash and wax in the spring, again mid summer, then before it gets stored. Sure I wipe bug goo of the batwing from time to time, but thats it.
Show bikes need to be spotless. The rest need to be used and used often.
its a wast of time to wash a motorcycle every week.
