yeah, Ohio cops SUCK, obviously not all of them, but i have a handful of friends that are cops in Ohio, cleveland pd, state patrol and toledo Pd, EVERY single one of them admit to harassing motorcyclists and checking for m endorsement and helmet law violations. I lived there for 5 years while i went to college, don't miss it one bit. I rode all year here!

Nice to see a step in the right direction.

Sadly, I believe that a repeal of the lid law will never happen here in Oregon. Too many people concerned about what others are doing (or not doing...).

I still think you should have to wear a helmet under 18. Just MHO. But after that it should be up to you. I live in mass and I have to wear one. Not that mine is DOT approved anyways.

In Kali we lost the right to choose helmet/no helmet under a Republican governor years ago. (Could never figure it out.) And the bozo democrat who sponsored the bill, "Dickless" Floyd, got voted out of office shortly thereafter.

Don't see it changing in the near future either.

Last year Gov. Snyder sounded like he supported the repeal under the right circumstances, the big one being the insurance. Hopefully he will support it. I'm not anti helmet but its good to have a choice. Everything I've heard sounds there's a good chance this will happen.

And of course the Insurance Lobby here in Michigan is screaming that repeal will lead to double the deaths and serious injuries to bike riders.

We have been close to getting this done for years...its been vetoed by different governors several times...I won't hold my breath on this Governor...He has proven to be more for bussinesses (read Insurance Companies) than for individual citizens. I hope I am wrong...only time will tell.

We sent the demodingbat Granmole back home to Canada who vetoed the bill every time and elected Repub business savvy Snyder, (well, at least I did) Michigan's tourism is struggling and it would make economical sense to let bikers of all sorts south of us cross our border to the Mi.lower north and UP where the roads and scenery are beyond awesome, especially the Great Lakes coast lines all the way around the mitten.

We don't normally cross over into the U.P. because of the law. I sure hope this passes. And yes, we do wear helmets on occassion. But I am not going to lug one hundreds of miles to cross a border. I can think of a couple hundred riders who would cross over and spend $$$
