SuperTrapp/ Kerker Stout slip on's- Tulsa
I saw another thread on these but it was from last July I think.
Anyone running these yet around Tulsa, OK? Online they sound great. Although I am a little curious to real worls hp & torqu gains. They tout some pretty big gains from slip on's. Kerker -17% hp & 12% torque on a stock engine and the SuperTrapp version- 16% hp & 14% torque. These show on a 2010 FLH which I am guessing is a 96 inch. I am also curious to hear them in person as things always seem to sound different on you computer speakers.
Who has any experience with these?
Thanks

I have the Kerker full exhaust on my 2012 Lo, not sure the gain yet, dyno is next week. As far as the sound its nice, better than the SE slip on i had on the '07 Faboy. I can't believe the hp gains there trying to pass, i dont think any pipe could do that alone.

The HP gains do seem unrealistic. I do like the sound online anyway. To tuff to buy something that I can't hear in person. Nothing worse than a $650 disappointment. Thanks for the response.

Don't expect anything in terms of improvement with just the slip-ons. The claims they make are highly suspect IMO. A SE air kit and download in addition will give you noticeably more hp and torque though, but nothing special. To open up the bike, you will need a tuner. It is a trade-off however. My fuel economy actually improved, but if you add a tuner, your economy will suffer.

My dealer is giving me the hard sell on a tuner, saying its pretty much required when adding an intake and exhaust.
Never had to do it on any of my cars, but I remember having to rejet my old bikes when adding the same to them.

IMO those gains are BS.. Getting that much more TQ and HP is what most in here get after doing STG1 and cams.. not just adding some slip ons..
Most slip ons will net 2-4 #'s of TQ and 3-5 HP.
Most of the time Real world dyno results are a lot different than what is claimed by the pipes and air cleaner makers.

The dealer is looking out for you. You could get away with just a SE stage 1 download, but the tuner will give you two things: First, much better performance improvement. Second, flexibility to do more performance mods in the future.

I'm planning to have them install the tuner and stage intake same time I find the right exhaust combo.
