Chaps, jacket, doo rag, vest and oh yeah...

Warmed up so fast this year, I barely got to wear my chaps, this year. Cooled off again, so I am going to wear them again, today, on my 85 mile commute. Keeps me warm, keeps my dress pants from flopping around, there in case of a slide.
If I stop, they go in the Tour Pak. Anybody who doesn't wear them under 45 degrees is making a mistake.

So what you are sayin' is those who stay warm and not like rocks to take out your knees and shins are gay.

Chaps are gay. Justify them however you like.....they're still gay...doo rags too. The only thing some of these guys are missing is the eye patch and they'd be full fledged bonafide pirates.

Here in Minnesota, we're having a GREAT early spring. The past 2-3 weekends has been 70's and sunny.
Sadly, during the week it's been crappy. I've been itching to take the bike to work in the AM but the weekly weather is miserable compared to the weekends.
Guess I can't complain too much. Heck, there's usually 4' of snow on the ground at this time.

Dont have chaps, just dont know how effective they would be in 35 degree 40 mile each way commute. Looking into insulated jeans to wear over my pants, but they would offer no slide protection.....decisions, decisions.....

I don't like chaps and I don't have them. They seem to be very convenient though. You can store them in a saddle bag and put them on/off on the side of the road if the weather changes. Ya can't do that with any kind of pant. They allow you to dress in layers.

You know, your not supposed to wear them without other pants underneath.
