Default Expecting hassle from the cops

I'm hoping to get a call from a couple highway patrol a$$es. In IA. It's illegal to pass a patrolman in the right lane on a 4 lane divided highway when they have someone pulled over. Da, I thought this was common courtesy I move to the left for anyone on the shoulder. last week I had some cargo in the back of my pickup and thought a strap was coming loose so I pulled over, my cargo was 7' tall so I was standing on the drivers side of the box in the rain & wind checking with my back to the traffic. Then a HP fly's by, his wind wake startled me and as I turned to see who the a$$ was another one came by right next to me, It was about 9:00 am so I guess they were late for their doughnut break. there was no other cars around them there was no reason they couldn't have moved to the left. I called the state patrol office when I got back home, asked for the commander and told him the story and what road & time of day. He agreed they sould have moved over but they did not break any law as the law was just for state and patrol vehicals. I said that I knew that, but that this is no way to gain any respect from the public. I left my name and number and told him that I expected a call and an apolagy from the two officers.
I'm still waiting I guess when you're above the law you don't have to show anyone else courtesy or respect.

Sorry for the rant but I'm still Pi$$ed about it.

GMAFB. Your presumption that the two HP were headed for doughnuts says it all. I'll have you know that cops eat their doughnuts much earlier than 9am.

I'm sure, next time you see a cop pulled over, you'll be sure to take extra care to clear the lane next to them, haha.

Are they also exempt from reckless driving regulations?

Wow, get a life, my Friend! How did this adversely affect you? What harm has their completely legal actions caused you? Maybe they were on their way to an accident or some other emergency. Who knows? But to allow it to make you so upset that you had to call the state patrol over it, makes you look kind of petty... don't you think?

Yep, LEO should exhibit same courtesy toward other vehicles as they'd expect when on side of road. See infractions daily while out-n-about (LEO speeding, talking on cell, blowing stops, etc.) & understand is probably a low % of badge wearers, but it would be nice to be the lead-by-example example...JMO.

That's the funny part, because yes I will move over it's the right & safe thing to do. I would have probably got over it if it would have been one cop and thought he was distracted or something was up, but two of them you would have thought one of them would've had some common sence

I understand what you are saying but seems like a relatively minor issue since no one got hurt.

Never invite the man in to your life and sure as hell don't create an issue over something that is not likely to really change the world. I could see if they dragged you off your truck pistol whipped you, had illegal buttseks with you and called you names but why in God's name would you start a hassle with the man over something like this?

I'll say it one more time never invite the man in to your life.

You agree that they didn't break the law but still say that they are above the law and that you want an apology?
I'd say grow up.
I always move over a lane when possible for vehicles on the shoulder. Doesn't matter if I'm in my POV, cruiser or on my bike. But it isn't law to do that for anything but emergency vehicles and even at that, not in every state.
Wonder how many cars or trucks went flying by you without "moving over"?
Do they have to apologize too or just the cops?

How does this affect me? When the first one went by 3ft from me at at least 70mph and I would have fallen off the the wet side of the truck the other one would have run over me. It doesn't change the situation as if they were on a call or not all lanes were clear, It wouldn't have slowed them to move over in any way. If this makes me look petty then so be it.
