Yes, only first 1/2 of model year production. The new rotor stator kit is about $230 plus oil & gaskets so figure that in if you get one.

You can wash the clutch off with cheap atf in an old windex bottle.

Total bull SCHEISSE. THEY KNOW!

Have you seen how thick the copper windings are used on the stator? I doubt a spinning (centrifical force at work) clutch is going to let any of that crap IN it. I rode my bike home 20 miles after the rotor let go and my clutch is fine 15k miles later.

I'd do this and take my chances...

Sorry but you are wrong, the entire run was infected with sub-par IPB's and rotors. I have had both fail and my production date is 04/06, far from the first half of the model year.

Well Deeley Canada called HD moco and they are "unaware" of any problem so I guess everyone is BSing on the stator problem, quote "we just upgraded the rotor to a welded one." Haha upgraded. The best line I got from CS was "I'm a consumer too and I've had to pay alot for repairs, just the price you pay" huh your repping HD and telling me that your dishing out big $$ for repairs... guess reliability isn't a big thing for HD. Tried to have the part covered under goodwill due to its a **** design and its definately going to implode, gladly pay for labour but got the no go sorry but we value you as a customer. **** off but what can you do, thanks for reading my vent Ride safe everyone

This may be the problem. YOU have to call MOCO yourself. You tell them (in a very nice way) that you, and many others, who have documented the issue, are aware that there IS an issue with the "2-piece" stator-rotor coming apart. Then you are officially on record with the MOCO. They probably (as in my case with my IPB issue) will tell you that your dealer "might" fix it on good will. Then you have to go to your dealer and tell them that YOU called the MOCO and have a record number, etc. Remember, you have to be NICE with everyone involved or you'll certainly get turned away. Good luck.

Thanks QehQeh, I went thru the IPB issue too and had to get involved with Deeley and my dealer. If it wasnt for the 15000 mile bulletin a member of this forum had posted I would've been SOL on that. In Canada Deeley reps HD which I did call myself (deeley), talked to a customer service rep which contacted HD in the states about the stator issue. I used to call the western canada rep but he just quit last month which is bad cause he was a reasonable guy. I will try to call direct tomorrow but last time they (US HD) said they only deal with US dealers but worth the try. I do alot of customer service for a living and I'm always respectable cause the CS rep wasn't the one that designed the crappy stator but he can help to goodwill it
