I wear a shark evo, the helmet fits me well and I like the way the chin piece folds all the way to the back of the helmet. Nothing hanging in the air to catch wind.

I have a HD Modular helmet.
I bought it as a first helmet in 2010 (after years of not having one).
I wanted the extra protection in the chin area, but the ability to flip-up the chin piece.

I really have nothing to compare it to, but after reading some of the reviews here would tend to agree about the noise. I also wonder if this helmet is adding to the helmet buffeting issue I have.

I am currently looking for something less restrictive and warm-weather friendly.

Here is the one I have...

A review I saw from Google...

I have the HJC modular and really like it. Price is far from out of line and have found no faults with it.

It fit really snug in the cheekbone area when brand new but it didn't take very long to loosen up just right.

It sounds like you and I are on the same page where the HD/KBC (not HJC) modular is concerned. In my page one list of groans on the KBC stealth, I left 1 out. The side visibility is totally adequate. The down visibility however, not so much so.

I bought the OL a HJC Symax 2 brand new for 50 bucks, she loves it. My melon is much larger so I can't try it. I rock a licks novdot 3/4...

We looked at the HD branded modulars and they are just way over priced.

I have the Harley Modular (nice Phoenix graphic on mine).

My take on it is that it is a nice helmet, but honestly I should have just gotten the full face.

The modular leaks air in through the seams...not enough to cool you down in summer but it doesn't provide all the wind protection you want for Winter.

I wear it only for long trips up i-95 or for cold weather riding...in both cases a full face would have been a better choice.

+1
I love my Shark Evo. Highest safety ratings and I love being able to ride at freeway speeds with the chin bar all the way folded back.

I've never been happier with a helmet than with my nolen 104. comfort and fit have exceeded all others I tried.
