How long do you think they'll sell the V ROD
Seems like for the last 2 years I see more and more dealers selling V Rods pretty much close to cost.I know it's winter here in the Northeast, but you can get a 06 Street Rod for almost $4,000 off MSRP. I went into 2 different dealers looking at bikes and both are pushing the V Rods like crazy. No matter what model you're looking at they ask " have you everthought abouttheV Rod " and if you say no then they practicly beg you to take it for a ride.I hear they sell real good in Europe, but how much longer are they gonna sell them here if they aren't making any profits off of them.

I don't see them dropping it. The NiteRod Special sells before they hit the floor.

Also I predictthe V-rod engine will soon be in an Ultra Classic or there will be a V-rod tour bike.

I don't know about the V-rod engine in a touring bike, but I did hear rumors about Harley working on a 2000cc or a 2450cc liquid cooled engine.

I have only rode a v-rod a couple of times, but that is one heck of a good running and handling bike. I would love to have that power plant in a Dresser. I know it would not be tradtional air-cooled HD, but sometimes you have to change to get more performance.

More gas mileage would be an appropriate move,I mean,32 gal. city and 45 hwy. I had a VW that got better than that with 4 cyl.![] Wouldn't liquid cooling add a few ponies?

Really interesting stuff about the V-Rods development in the 100 Years Of Harley Davidon book by Willie G Davidson.
In some ways the V-Rod is a victim of Harley Davidson's heritage. It's a great 2nd or 3rd HD but I can't imagine owning one as my main squeeze.
