I have been able to find lots of posts all over the web about removing rest from spoke wheels but I have been going for a old military look and it is time to hit the wheels they are a little rusty last year I tried salt water and leaving them wet but it did not do much I am going to try murratic acid this week but just wondering if anyone has done this before

Nothing smells more like and appears like bull$hit...kinda like folks trying to figure how to make jeans look old and used or how to make a vest look like it has been around the block (several times), or the fools who take sheet metal and age it using things like muriaitc acid and then claim to have found the barn fresh early production 36 knuckle.
Some things you cannot fake and you should not try...sorry bro
Do not mean to rain on your parade but you cannot "fake" old skool....JMHO
