I shouldn't have done this.

A t-shirt is the same as skin at speed. might as well be shirtless. seriously. dress for the slide or the ride.
personal decision.
I usually don't wear the proper gear, but I know what will happen to my skin if I slide at 40+ mph. I'm not fooling myself.
you slide face first- no face.
we live with risk everytime we throw a leg over the seat. Riding a motorcycle isn't a safe activity.
Hell, maybe it's WHY we ride.

Damn that is funny! I commute into Mass for work so I tend to gear up, including a hi-vis vest or jacket. I relax a bit on weekends and when cruising in my home state where traffic is less congested.

Some how at the Lynchburg, VA rally one year, I ended up on a ride behind a guy wearing a wife beater and shorts. Yep, that's it. No foot wear of any kind.

I'm an all gear all the time guy myself. I always remember what a guy told me once: If you are gonna hit the ground the first thing people do is put out your hands to catch yourself. If your hands hit the ground there is a good chance you will rash your fingers. You know where they graft from right? Your ***. Unless you want buttfingers wear full finger gloves.

Nope, I don't even start the bike unless I'm wearing my helmet, leather or mesh jacket, gloves, jeans, and riding boots. I've been on the pavement once and I walked away with only muscular damage to my thumb. There's a reason for that.

When it's colder I wear my leather & gloves, but warm weather I wear jeans, t-shirt or sleeveless shirt, boots & helmet. Never shorts or flip-flops. I have rode a few times with leather converse shoes on, but they are steel toed for work.
I have been down before & have the scars to prove it so I know a t-shirt is worthless but it comes a point of enjoying the ride or being miserable & hot in the summer. I ride bikes to enjoy them, so I will take the risk from wearing a t-shirt & no gloves. I always wear my helmet & jeans though no matter what & 99% of the time leather boots.
