Salesman stupidity

That reminds me of 10 yrs ago had a job for a while selling Honda cars at an official Honda dealership. Those Honda cars had questionable design but the engines were really unbreakable. Mechanics and salesmen alike were driving these engine hard but they were really sturdy. A 19yr old they hired as a salesman jumps in one of our traded-in vehicles, a VW, it's December, and drives out the dealership to go wash the car, from a cold start revving the engine like he was going out into a race track. The clients we had looking at our used cars weren't really impressed, he must have shortened the life of that engine by 50k miles...

Anyone who knows ANYTHING about an engine knows NOT to rev an engine like a race car when it's cold.
But apparently I put too much faith in people's knowledge of what they drive.
Ahh, I feel better about myself already :-)

You would think That it's "common knowledge". But that kind of knowledge isn't quite so common these days

Who even likes the sound of a motor bouncing off the rev limiter? Personally any time I see some dufus rev the **** out of his or her bike I want to walk up to them and introduce my 5 fingers to their face.
