Willie G. Davidson retires after 49 years...

yep , willie is a decent enough guy but way over rated. true he was the driving force behind the superglide , but also kind of a boat anchor on progress from there.
hope his retirement is by choice and he enjoys it

maybe they will come out with a decent custom model now
.. hey i have an idea for a custom model. we will take a road king, mount some left over buell blast forks on it, take a hacksaw to the fenders, and rattlecan the whole thing with BBQ black. then we will charge $30k for the bike that that cost $8k less then the original model to build

Lets not forget Mr. Davidson was Gung Ho on the V Rod. He was Not all about old school. He was a forward thinker. Good Bless. Thanks.
The REVO can save HD. 103ci and 110ci Twink Air Cooled, Hot and Melting Crap is over.
I do not want one and never will buy one. I still like my Evo for what it is and was.
The Revo will make or break HD. All of you retro guys keep your stuff, I will.
The New HD will, guaranteed be Revo powered. That's all they have. Read this back in 3 years.
If this is not in the works HD will be dead. We will all ride classics and you better have an Evo.
Just my opinion. What do I know? Have you ever rode a V Rod? NICE MOTOR!

You jack offs critizing Willie G are just that, jack offs. You couldn't shine his shoes. A$$holes.

He has at least one son and one daughter working there. Both are up the ladder. I think the daughter is a V.P.
I see no behind the scenes intrigue going on. It was hard to make 78 years and keep working. The average man is gone at that age. That would be the most likely reason.
Good for him. Hope that he has a long and healthy retirement.
Interesting comment that he was a boat anchor on progress. Must be a poster that does not think that the V-Rod is a Harley. The V-Rod was an enormous leap into the future for HD.

No, not a relative. Just someone who has been around HD since the 70s. Willie G. has done much for Harley and motorcycling. The people who feel they have to criticize the man because he is "corporate" or because he has done well for himself are idiots. Just my opinion.
