Anyone left in the company with the surnames Harley or Davidson?

I think the man has left his mark. After all this time the company has to fully understand the culture and what the customer really wants. You would think.

Whoops ... OK reading back through the thread there is a Bill Davidson. Does not sound like he is real creative. Going to run the museum?

Thanks for the years of dedication and effort.

(I really enjoyed that you ran out of fuel on your V-Rod due to that crazy-azz gauge.....just like I did. lol)

Default Creator of Iconic Motorcycles

Willie synthesized everything that had been Harley Davidson and created some motorcycles that have, and will for the foreseeable future, stand the test of time.

Icons. The FXSTC Custom, the FXD Wide Glide and Super Glide, the FLSTS and FXSTS Springers, the FLSTC Heritage, the FLHR and FLHRC Road Kings, and the FLHT Electra Glides. Those are in no particular order. They are what HD means to me. Sportsters, too. All iconic motorcycles. People in 50 years will be collecting them, just as we've collected older iron.

My problem is with him out of the way, will it now be run by the bean counters and suits?
No one left who this company actually means something to?
Is this why more and more parts are made overseas?
Will it mean to maximize profits the bikes will eventually be made in china?

To Mr. Davidson:
thank you for all you have done for the Harley-Davidson Motor Company. Thank you for risking your future and your fortune more than 30 years ago when you and the others saved the Company from AMF.
You are a living legend and deserve a place of honor, not only in the Motor Company, but as part of our American Heritage.
I wish you all the best in your well-deserved retirement.
You will always be remembered.

God Speed.

There are enough "real" Harleys around to last a 100 years. Then and only then will I buy water cooling... -L-
