On the newer FI bikes you have to have enough juice to turn on the fuel pump and fire up the electronics. Without it (dead battery) it just ain't happening!

Left my lights on,tried to start but no luck. Was on a good hill , rolled bike down hill and tried to pop the clutch in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Nothing came close to turning over the engine. All I did was skid the back tire. Is there a way to push the bike and pop the clutch and have it start? I have done this before on my other "non-Harley" bikes and they all started. WTF over?
If it's carbed then it should be easy to push start. I was taught to do it in 2nd - just remember to turn on the fuel, power and run switch.

I did it when I stopped to help a guy with an '09 Electra-Glide. He had a bad starter clutch and it wouldn't engage, but had enough juice for EFI. He pushed me about 3-4 times before it dawned on me that the key fob should probably be in my pocket instead of his (closer to the bike). I got it to fire right up after that.

I have push started a old Yamaha of mine, but I was always told the EFI bikes require power. The fuel pump needs to be up and running and the injectors etc need power to run. If the starter was bad, and the battery good I guess it would be possible, but with the battery flat....... No go.
The cam position sensor also needs some power to tell the ignition to fire.
Boost the bike off your car or charge the battery with a charger.

Yes. Pushed mine twice. No you cant put a kicker on it because the crank sensor needs more rpm than a kicker can give.

Read someplace it was around 10.something or just under 11 but that was before EFI , with fuel pump involved now anything lower I donno .

I could be wrong , I dont ride a twinkie , but I have been told by more than one person that the new bikes cannot be kick started because there is a certain rpm the engine has to hit before it will be alolwed to fire. something to check out before dropping money on a kicker
Can't say for twinkies but EVO's had to make 2 full revolutions before they would fire with factory ignition systems , any kicker conversion I've done we always changed the stock out for Dyna or similar aftermarket system .
