Baffles Back In!

Baffles Back In!
2 years ago I put on a set of American Custom slip ons on my 09 Road King. I bought a set of their mid range baffles also but after trying riding with & without the baffles I decided to go without them. This left the bike with a nice deep "Harley" sound but if you get on it it could be considered obnoxious. I just decided to put the baffles back in for a while to see how I feel about riding with a quieter bike. I'm pretty sure the neighbors will appreciate it, especially early in the mornings (I commute on the bike daily).
Anyone else here ever get over wanting to hear their bike roar?

Yep. Put Vance & Hines Bigshots on the softail when I bought it. Definitly believe that loud pipes remind the cagers that other users of the roads are out there. That being said after install of big bore kit, cams and heads, the bike runs great but it is loud. Havent decided on true duals , 2-1 or if baffles will quiet it down to a loud roar yet.

I ordered their pipes without the baffles. Kept them the 30 days before sending in my stock pipes to get their core fee back. During that time my bike would do a lot of decel popping with the straight pipes. When I sent my originals in, I asked them to send me their Mid Rumble baffles, which they did. But they sounded so quiet after so long without them that I didn't like them. They did, however, stop the decel popping, and the bike seemed to have more pep. So I took the baffles out and drilled extra holes in them. Added six more holes per baffle. Now they're louder than stock, but not as loud as without them, has a nice deep rumble, and still no decel popping. I'm happy with them now.

Yes. Put Wild Pigs on my Ultra's true duals w/ 2.5 baffles. Sounded awesome, but found I needed ear plugs. Too much, especially n long rides. Went to 2" affles, repacked them with better quality packing and got just the right combination of deep Harley rumble at a lower db. It still lets you know it when you get on the throttle, but it's easier on the ears on long rides-the best of both worlds.

I have drag pipes on my old shovel, and it sounds awesome, but it's strictly a short distance bike. For my touring bike I don't want to hear the thing growling at me for hours on the freeway. I'll look to add something that's fairly easy on the neighbors, won't drone me to death on the freeway, but has some bark to it when I wind her up a bit. Haven't quite decided yet, but I keep coming back to the 4" Jackpots
