Default Who hops in the burnout pit at events?

Im watching some movies on Sturgis and Daytona (never been myself) and im just wondering why would someone be so quick to jump in the burnout pit with their bike?

then they showed this one dude and he was pissed when it tire popped ... what did he think would happen? lol

So, who does this, and why?

Is it dirt cheap to buy a new tire at an event, and have it changed?

Some guys have a worn out tire that needs to be replaced anyway so they figure it's a way to have some fun and get some attention. Others bragged to their buddies and have to do it to save face.
The winner usually gets something.

Thumbs down Nope!

Me neither!
Was just talking about this very thing at work today.
I don't understand why people would do this.
Don't get me wrong, I'll watch and I'll cheer when you blow your tire, but I ain't doin it with my bike.

Have fun!

Not me either. Reminds me of a dude last summer at a bike night at a local bar pullin a burnout in the parking lot. He almost dumped the bike twice during it and his pipes got so cherry red that it lit the ground up underneath the bike. For real. I remember trying to imagine what his exhaust valves must have looked like...or anything in the motor. ***** that!
